Local Law Enforcement officer and his former Top Deputy are arrested and Charged with three felony counts of corruption and theft.  Constable Roy Houchins and Major Michael S. Sherfick (Westfield, IN).

We know for a fact that Mr. Houchins was previously warned about Mr. Sherfick's checked past of criminal acts and convictions including a felony conviction for a Sex crime.  When given the information, Mr. Houchins stated that "He (Mr. Sherfick) was a fine young man a father of 4 and he was family with Mr. Sherfick's background and the sex crime was a misunderstanding between consenting adults".  Unfortunately the young lady involved, the arresting officer, prosecutor and judge did not agree. (This conversation took place  over the phone with Mr. Houchins.) Mr. Houchins contacted myself regarding a statement on our site that "allegedly Michael Sherfick was given back his police powers by the Perry township constables office." Mr. Houchins stated that Mr. Sherfick does not have police powers thru his office and we retracted the story.  However based on the present information it would appear that our initial story was accurate and Mr. Houchins apparently forgot he had indeed reinstated Michael Sherfick's police powers.

We base our opinions on court records and being personally familiar with his antics for over 16yrs which includes numerous driving offenses, conviction for impersonating a police officer, the felony sex crime as well as other checked events.

 So as the old barn yard saying goes. " If you play with manure the stink is going to stick to you".  In our opinion if Mr. Houchins is found guilty, I have no sympathy as he was forewarned by many people.
